Momentum for construction recruitment

December 2009

Construction recruitment is set to receive a boost in the North East.

Industry giant Frank Haslam Milan (FHM) has announced plans to expand its workforce, doubling the number of existing construction jobs at the company.

Around 200 new construction jobs are expected to be created at the Sunderland-based firm as a result of the move.

FHM managing director David Mellor said: “The next six months will see a significant period of growth for us, as we extend our reach to new areas and begin to deliver more new build and older people’s accommodation developments.

“These exciting projects include a mixed tenure approach, with sale, shared ownership and rental homes.”

According to reports, construction jobs at the company will vary, including positions such as quantity surveyors, site managers and building surveyors.

Initially, the company will be searching for people to fill managerial roles but, once this process is completed, FHM will set its sights on recruiting operatives such as bricklayers, plumbers and joiners.
