Artemis takes key customers to IoD Annual Convention
Government targets to cut carbon emissions in both industry and homes is galvanising many organisations – boosting job creation.
Just as a real war drives the development of technology and new ideas, the war against global warming has had similar effects. New strategies and products are coming to the market, and more are being developed. These include smart metering, energy monitoring and more energy-efficient devices, renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, biofuels and CHP (Combined Heat & Power).
Some companies are now introducing full project management for businesses around the input of energy efficient products. Another major development is energy and carbon management, which large corporates are increasingly moving into. This involves looking at the end-to-end solution for the whole of energy management, from data retrieval to the implementation of products such as HVAC, lighting and heating.
Also coming under the corporate microscope is the full life cycle of energy and carbon management, including reporting methodologies, control strategies, client support and behavioural change expertise – all designed to cut costs to customers and therefore improve profitability.
Given all this, it’s not surprising that many organisations are entering the job market on a big scale – which of course is creating new opportunities. Michelle Williams, MD of Artemis, comments: “We are finding that businesses in this area are restructuring many departments to align themselves with the market opportunities, they are developing cross functional project teams to deliver real long term benefits back to customers. They are taking many new products and services to market and are expanding offerings on existing contracts often taking services once outsourced in-house. We are also finding that customers are being much more aggressive about increasing their market share and want to be seen as the leaders in these emergying technologies, those businesses who don’t act soon will be left behind. This must be seen as very positive and bodes well for the UK’s target for reducing carbon emissions.
At Artemis, we have stayed close to these developments and as a result are working closely with a number of exciting businesses to support the delivery of their strategic plans for growth.”
