Pfizer Ad Alerts of Dangers of Illegal Medicines
November 2009
A hard- hitting TV campaign is being run by pharmaceuticals company Pfizer to bring into light the dangers of counterfeit medicines. The company’s ad puts the people on guard against the dangers of fake medicines.
The purpose of the ad was to warn consumers of the dangers of bypassing a doctor to buy prescription medicines from illegal websites. It was judged to be too shocking to be aired before 11pm, was shown in cinemas earlier this year.
Laying stress on the fact that fake medicines often have toxic ingredients like rat poison, the TV work features a man coughing up a dead rat.
The campaign will be supported by a poster campaign across the UK, “Get real, get a prescription”.
Michelle Williams from Artemis Solutions Group who specialise in recruiting for Food and Beverage sector states, “Such hard-hitting advertisements are real eye openers and desirable for creating public awareness and making people aware of such illegal websites selling dangerous drugs.”
